James has been at the Southern Golf Club since 1999 and has represented the club as an amateur in the Division 1 pennant team.   

James graduated from his PGA traineeship in 2006 program with honors having been awarded a scholarship for academic excellence over his three year degree. He also recorded a number of high placings in tournaments.

James is an AAA rated PGA professional that is a fully dedicated instructor and utilises K-Vest 3D biomechanics technology to accelerate his students learning.

Peter Manzie (Director of Golf)

Peter began working for Sean in 2002, and started out as a junior member of Southern Golf Club and once good enough advanced to play Division 1 Pennant for the club. He is currently completing his final year of his traineeship and is looking forward to what the future holds. Peter enjoys playing with members of the club and has a passion to help teach the game of golf to Southern's members and guests.

Currently the Director of Golf at Southern, Peter manages the day to day runnings of the Pro Shop, whilst completing his studies for his traineeship. He has had great success with his students and has enjoyed watching them progress into very good players who now enjoy playing golf.  With a very simple teaching model, he is very easy to understand and finds simplicity a key to helping players make a quick improvement.

Peter has the ability to help people understand how correct equipment can make a huge impact on their game.  Book some time with Peter and have your club evaluated or have a lesson, you will see the improvements instantly. 

Linda Mew (Teaching Professional)

Linda Mew brings a strong understanding of adapting her teaching to individuals needs.   
She has a strong medical background including degrees in nursing and natural therapies through Kinesiology/Bowen.
This compliments her playing credentials as a state junior representative, twice club champion at Commonwealth and Coolangatta/Tweed Heads Golf Club's.
She has since specialised in teaching for the past five years working with Women's Golf Victoria coaching women, being strongly involved in junior development programs and also private clients of all skill levels.

Linda is an AA member of the PGA and LPGA's of Australia.

Kane Streat (Assistant Professional)

Southern Golf Club Teaching professional Kane Streat competed Internationally on the Australasian PGA Tour since 2004, having now focused his energies on improving golfers of all levels and abilities. During his amateur career Kane trained at the Victorian Institute of Sport and subsequently integrates some the techniques he acquired into his teaching. 
Internationally Kane's successes include winning the Louisiana State Amateur and as a professional he won on the satellite 'Pepsi Tour' in America. Closer to home Kane currently holds the course records at both the Southern and Rosedale Golf Club's.

 Kane now spends most of his time working Southern Golf Club and at the new state of the art training facility 'The Golf Science Centre' in Sandringham.  Kane now concentrates most of his time teaching short game techniques to his students. He works with many great young players around Australia and Kane has an excellent understanding of the game including course strategy, concentration and performing under pressure. This comes from the perspective he has gained from playing inside the ropes with many upcoming golfers including Marc Leishman, Andrew Tampion, Jarrod Lyle and Jason Day.
